Direct Garment Printing FAQ
What is Direct Garment Printing?
Direct Garment Printing is the process of printing directly on a garment using an ink jet printer. The process is also known as Digital Garment Printing, DTG Printing, Digital Screen Printing as well as other names.
What about multi color prints?
Direct Garment Prints are FULL color. One color or one hundred, it's all the same.
What can you print with a Direct Garment Printer?
The machines that we use work on 100% cotton and 50/50 Cotton/Poly blends. 100% cotton is best. We only print on light colored shirts.
What about dark shirts?
We don't offer DTG on dark shirts. Dark shirts require that the machine print a white under-base. We have owned several machines claiming to do this. We have not been happy with the quality or durability of the prints.
What are the artwork requirements?
Maximum imprint area is 14"w x 16"h. Art should be at least 200 DPI at 100%. RGB color works best. We can use most file types.
Is the process environmentally friendly?
Our DTG inks are water based. There is virtually no clean up and very little waste.
